Office Holiday Parties

Holiday Party Photo Wall
Photos and shout-outs on one screen

Guests at your company holiday party scan a QR code and post photos, thank-yous and shout-outs to colleagues. Everything appears live on the big screen. No app, no booth rental, free to start.

Office holiday party ideas for the wall

The wall gives people something to do between dinner and the dance floor. Here are six ways teams use it at their year-end party.

Thank-you wall for colleagues

Ask everyone to thank one colleague who helped them this year. The thank-yous roll across the screen during the party, and people stop to read them.

Year-in-review shout-outs

Collect shout-outs for the launch, the big client win or the team that got through the hardest quarter. Show them on screen before the CEO's toast.

Ugly sweater photo roll call

Guests post a photo of their holiday sweater, and the whole room sees every entry on the big screen. Pick a winner from the wall at the end of the night.

Greetings from remote teams

Share the upload link in Slack or email so colleagues in other offices or at home can send a photo or a holiday greeting to the party screen.

Welcome this year's new hires

Invite the team to post a welcome note to everyone who joined this year. It is an easy way to make the first holiday party with the company feel friendly.

Gift exchange and party moments

White elephant reveals, the dance floor and the team table photos all end up on one wall, and on Plus and Pro you can download them as a ZIP afterwards.

A holiday party shout-out wall, not just a photo wall

Many photo walls only show pictures. EventWall also shows messages, so the same screen works as a thank-you wall for colleagues. Guests can post a shout-out without a photo, add a photo with a caption, or just share a picture.

  • Text-only shout-outs up to 1,000 characters
  • Message-only mode if you want a pure shout-out wall
  • Moderation so you see every message before the room does
  • Collect shout-outs in the week before and show them at the party

A photo booth alternative for your company holiday party

A photo booth is fun for the people in line. A live wall involves the whole room, including the colleagues who would never step into a booth.

Set it up in a few minutes

1. Create the wall

Name your party, pick a theme and turn on moderation. You get a QR code and a shareable upload link.

2. Share the QR code

Put it on table cards, the bar or the screen itself, and post the link in Slack for remote colleagues.

3. Show it on the big screen

Open the wall in a browser on the venue TV or projector. Approved photos and shout-outs appear in real time.

Built for HR teams and office managers

Planning the party is already a lot of work. The wall should not add to it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a holiday party photo wall?

A holiday party photo wall is a live screen at your office holiday party that shows the photos and messages guests post from their phones. Guests scan a QR code, which opens an upload page in their browser, and their post appears on the TV or projector in seconds. No app or account is needed.

Can the same wall show both photos and shout-outs?

Yes. Guests can post a photo, a text message, or a photo with a caption from the same QR code, and everything appears together on one wall. Many teams use it as a shout-out wall for thanking colleagues and as a photo wall for the party itself. You can also set the event to accept messages only.

Is it a good alternative to a photo booth at a company holiday party?

It works well if you want everyone involved rather than a line at one corner of the room. Guests use their own phones anywhere at the venue, and the wall can show messages as well as photos. EventWall does not print photos, so if printed strips are important to you, a photo booth is still the better choice. Some teams use both.

Can we approve posts before they appear on screen?

Yes. Turn on moderation and every photo and message waits for your approval before it shows on the wall. You can also let posts appear automatically and remove anything afterwards. For a company party, switching moderation on is the safe default.

How much does a holiday party photo wall cost?

The Free plan costs $0 and includes 50 posts with the wall active for 3 days. Plus is $39 per event with 500 posts, 30 days and video uploads. Pro is $79 per event with 1,000 posts, 60 days, all 8 themes and your company logo and brand colors on the wall. It is a one-time price per event, not a subscription.

How many posts do we need for an office holiday party?

The post limit counts photos and messages together. A small team of 20 to 40 people can fit within the Free plan's 50 posts. For a company party of 50 to 300 guests, Plus with 500 posts is usually enough even if people post several times. Larger parties, or parties where you also collect shout-outs in the weeks before, should use Pro with 1,000 posts.

When should we set up the wall and upgrade?

You can create the wall for free at any time and test it with your team. Paid plans run 30 days (Plus) or 60 days (Pro) from the moment you upgrade, so upgrading a week or two before the party covers the shout-out collection, the party itself and time afterwards to download photos.

Can remote employees post to the wall?

Yes. The upload page is a normal web link, so besides the QR code at the venue you can copy the link and share it in Slack, Teams or email. Remote colleagues can send a photo or a holiday greeting from home, and it appears on the screen at the party.

Can we add our company logo and brand colors?

Yes, on the Pro plan. You can upload your logo and choose brand colors, or import both by pasting your company website address. The branding appears on the live wall, the guest upload page and the photo gallery.

What do we need at the venue?

A screen and a device with a browser and internet connection: a smart TV, a laptop connected to a TV or projector, or a conference room display. Guests post over their own mobile data, so only the display device needs a connection to the internet.

Can we download the photos after the party?

On Plus and Pro you can download all photos and videos as a ZIP file, for example for the company newsletter or intranet. Written messages are not included in the ZIP. They stay visible on the wall and in the gallery until the plan ends. The Free plan does not include the ZIP download.

What happens to guest photos and messages afterwards?

Photos and messages are deleted automatically when the plan's active period ends: 3 days on Free, 30 days on Plus and 60 days on Pro. Guests do not create accounts, and each wall only shows content from its own event.
